March 27, 2006 - Shopping @ Omotesando

After a quick breakfast at the cafe across from our hotel, we headed for Omotesando for some shopping. We arrived there around 11:30 a.m. There's a long line of famous stores down that street - LV, Donna Karen, Sisley, LaCoste, Anna Sui, Shisheido Gardens, ... We had fun shopping at the various stores, and grabbed lunch at a ramen place off Omotesando. After lunch, we headed to the newly opened Omotesando Hills (opened just last month!). Omotesando Hills' design is pretty compact. Also, the shops/ramp is built in a triangular sloping fashion so that one can keep walking from one floor to the next withou taking the escalator - this translates to maximized shopping time! We bought a little coat and toy for Arty at a dog clothing store in this shopping center.

In the evening, we headed to Katsura in Yaesu Fijiya Hotel for dinner. I'd have to say that after Daiwa, our taste buds got spoiled and Katsura turned out to a disappointing experience for us. We then called up Bud and met up with him to grab a drink atop the Akasaka Prince Hotel (called Top of Akasaka). The view was spectacular! It was an excellent way to end the evening - hanging out with friends, with a cocktail overlooking the nightlights Tokyo. Coincidentally, cherry blossoms are at full blossoms around this time of the year and Akasaka Prince has a beautiful walkway filled with these trees. Our walk back to the subway station was magical as well.
