Alternate reality

Just got back from watching the latest Star Trek movie on IMAX. It was most excellent!

J.J. Abrams is the producer of this movie and the TV show Fringe. In last week's episode of Fringe "The Road Not Taken", our good doctor introduced the idea of alternate reality. Again, the same theme of alternate reality was mentioned in the Star Trek movie. Coincidence? Doubtful.

Part of me wonders whether Star Trek's alternate realities will end up in an endless loop?
