Do you ever wish...

As we got on the freeway today around 6:00 pm earlier this evening (12/31/09), we found that the metering lights were on, although traffic was flowing smoothly on the freeway. While metering lights are effective when traffic is congested, it artificially slows down traffic during times like today. If only metering lights can be controlled via a sensor that detects traffic!
