Luck

Upon strong recommendation from Julian's friend Quanen, we have been watching a baseball anime Major. The story is about this kid Goro Honda/Shigeno who just absolutely loves playing baseball. In the 1st 3 seasons as we watch Goro growing up from kindergarden through high school, he somehow always ends up with a crappy team with a bunch of unmotivated, mediocre, and sometimes entirely unskilled players. This of course gives Goro the opportunity to not only shine as the hero of the team, but also become the leader who motivates the underdogs into battles against the best teams.

I really liked this line from a coach in an opposing team in reference to Goro's team. It goes something like this -

Luck doesn't come to those who give up. They (Goro's team) summoned luck to themselves.
