Julian's Garden (4)

As we melt in this Indian Summer weather in the bay area, Julian's tomatoes thrive. The tomato plants seem to have grown twice as tall from just these past two weeks. A few inches of it probably came from yesterday's 90-100 degree weather. Flowers are blooming on three of the plants.

A little fruit started growing where one of the flowers wilted. Our first baby tomato! We think/hope this is the Sun Gold.

We're not sure whether the 4th/5th (used to be 4th, until it got split in half by the squirrels) is going to survive or grow in time to bear fruits. Both parts of the plants seem to still be doing OK though. Seen here is the top part of the what used to be the 4th plant.

Basils have grown into a little forest. We have no complaints and are happily making pesto from them. Yesterday's lunch: turkey sandwich with fresh french bread from Anderson bakery and pesto mayonnaise made fresh from the garden!

We've given up on growing cilantro but this lone survivor is still surviving! It doesn't grow much like how it used to, but we're just happy to see this plant survive.
